About the SCA

The Saskatchewan Construction Association is the strong provincial advocacy voice of Saskatchewan's dynamic construction industry. Few people realize just how important the construction industry is to the Saskatchewan economy. SCA's 1200 member firms are involved in all aspects of this diverse industry. They carry out industrial, commercial, institutional, and heavy construction as well as build multi-unit residential complexes.

The issues SCA deals with on a regular basis are numerous and include, but certainly are not limited to:

  • Human Resource and Apprenticeship Training
  • Industry Standard Practices
  • Aboriginal Employment Initiatives
  • The Environment
  • Infrastructure Renewal
  • Research and Development
  • Taxation and Legislative Issues affecting the Construction Industry
  • Safety and Worker's Compensation Issues

SCA Strategic Plan

These are interesting days for the Saskatchewan Construction Association and the industry as a whole. Our sector has been somewhat insulated from the global recession that has decimated the major world economies. We are eagerly anticipating long awaited labour legislation that will further enhance our industry. With a timely upturn in the world economy, the foreseeable future is reasonably bright. The notable element in all of this is that we are constantly evolving and changing to meet current conditions. This is no more evident than with the initiatives recently undertaken by the SCA Board to move our association forward in an ever changing environment.
