Mission: |
| To provide leadership using principles of
governance
best
practices
to promote
the Saskatchewan Construction Association and
its
initiatives
to the industry and members such that the
visionaries
within in
our industry volunteer to serve the SCA and
industry. |

Make-up: |
Employees of member firms of the
Saskatchewan
Construction
Association.
The
Governance Sub-Committee is made up of a
- Chair: elected by the members of the
Governance
Sub-Committee
- Vice Chair: elected by the members of the
Governance
Sub-Committee
- Recording Secretary: elected by the members
of
the
Governance Sub-Committee or appointed by SCA
- SCA Board of Directors Chair, SCA Advisory Council
Chair,
and
SCA President are ex officio
members
of
the Governance
Sub-Committee*

Staff may
participate
in discussion but do not vote. |

Member Term
of
Office: |
| Members of the Governance Sub-Committee
serve for
two years from
the date
of the
first AGM on or after which they become a member of
the
Governance
Sub-Committee. Ex Officio members serve as per their
term of
office or
employment in the organization which they
represent
on the
Governance
Sub-Committee.

Mandate: |
The Governance Sub-Committee is responsible
to:
- Ensure the best interests of SCA members are being met
- Report to the SCA Board of Directors
- Review and assist in preparations of any amendments to
structure,
constitution,
and bylaws of the SCA
- Initiate governance and/or orientation training for SCA Board
of
Directors,
Advisory Council, Sub-Committees and Committees
- Form, operate and perform the duties of the SCA Nominating
Committee,
which
include but are not limited to the Election
Process
before
and after the SCA AGM
- Assist the SCA Board of Directors with any requests made to
the
Sub-Committee
- Recruit the visionaries within members to become volunteers
and
nominees
for the SCA Board of Directors and SCA Sub-Committees
