| Standard Practices
Sub-Committee Mission: |
- To oversee practices within the industry to ensure compliance
with standard practices and documents, developed and endorsed by
the Canadian Construction Association and endorsed by SCA.
- To monitor practices within the industry ensuring that the
implementation of supplementary general conditions is minimized
and does not have the effect of altering or subverting the intent
or the substance of these documents.
- To promote standard practices and procedures within SCA
membership.

Make-up: |
Employees of member firms of the Saskatchewan Construction
Association. The Standard Practices Sub-Committee is made up of a
- Chair: elected by the members of the Standard
Practices Sub-Committee.
- Vice Chair: elected by the members of the
Standard Practices Sub-Committee.
- elected by the members of the Standard Practices
Sub-Committee or appointed by SCA.
- Total of at least 8 members (besides ex
officio members) including 1 representative from each of
Mechanical Contractors Association of Saskatchewan and Electrical
Contractors Association of Saskatchewan.
- SCA Board of Directors Chair, SCA Advisory Council
Chair, and SCA President are ex officio
members of the Standard Practices Sub-Committee*

| Standard Practices Sub-Committee
Member Term of Office: |
| Members of the Standard Practices Sub-Committee serve for two
years from the date of the first AGM on or after which they become a
member of the Standard Practices Sub-Committee. Ex Officio members
serve as per their term of office or employment in the organization
which they represent on the Standard Practices Sub-Committee.

The Standard Practices Sub-Committee is responsible to
- Ensure the best interests of the membership are maintained.
- Report to the SCA Board of Directors.
- Provide recommendations on positions consistent with CCA.

10.8.1 Terms of
Reference – January,
1997
The Standard Practices
Committee is a standing Committee of the Association.
The Committee
shall be responsible for the development of recommendations to
improve tendering and contract practices.
The Committee
shall be responsible for the drafting of all standard Association
documents and their revision and improvement.
The Committee
shall be responsible for the promotion of improved policies and
procedures concerning tendering, contract documents, contract
administration and relations between owners, architects/engineers,
general contractors, trade contractors and manufacturers and
suppliers.
The Committee
shall be consulted and it shall make recommendations whenever the
Association is called upon to ameliorate contractual or tendering
disputes.
The Committee
shall be responsible for the preparation of the agenda for the
annual Joint CCA/Government of Canada Meeting.
The Committee
shall deal with such items as may be assigned by the Board from time
to time.
It shall be the
duty of the regional appointees to liaise with their respective
local and regional Standard Practices Committee.
The Committee
shall instigate constant liaison with all existing local and
regional Standard Practices Committees and encourage the exchange of
information and minutes of meetings for the benefit of all.
